Hello...I hope you all are doing great! I just want to take a quick moment share with you a little more of my back story. As someone who has no extensive fashion education or professional industry experience, the start of my own clothing line & online store was a huge step for me. Whether early on or later in life, we all gotta start somewhere. As mentioned on my About page, my interest & love for fashion began at a very young age. I got my first job while in high school working a seasonal sales position at a men's clothing store. I did take a couple of sewing classes in college & while my love for fashion continued on, it pretty much stopped there. To be honest, I had no focus, direction or hustle in me whatsoever (I totally hate admitting this, but it's the truth). I also relied a lot on the support of others to pursue a career in fashion. I had plenty of self doubt. Yes, of course my parents loved me & supported me in general, but looking back, job security, benefits, a retirement plan, etc--all those things that come with a typical 9-5 job--were of more importance, or at least this is what was instilled in me. In other words, I was not much of a risk taker. My genuine passions & interests were overlooked because of my lack of focus. Ugh, I feel like I'm beating myself up right now, but I know someone out there can relate.
The reason I am sharing this tidbit of information is because I want to encourage others, of all ages, who have any doubt & uncertainty or don't really have anyone in their corner rooting for them or supporting their dreams, to be driven & to continue on a path that their heart leads them on. You WILL find your way!!! xoxo Cristina
PS - I actually composed this post long before the pandemic...just FYI
